Liveboards versus Preservationists

OUTFRONT has deployed 250 smart digital screens in Boston’s transit system.  The MBTA is thrilled by the $100 million in revenue generated from the screens.    Boston Magazine writes there’s a backlash against the screens by the Massachusetts Preservation Alliance and Friends of the Public Garden who say that screens which will be constructed above ground near Boston Commons and the Public Garden will change the atmosphere of a historic neighborhood.

Insider’s take – This is a trend worth watching as small digital billboards get deployed across older cities.  Insider is keeping an eye on Boston to see how this turns out.
