Inrix Reports Another Week of Traffic Growth

  • Nationwide passenger traffic increased by another 3% for the week ended May 29 according to the Inrix US National Traffic Volume Synopsis #11.
  • Personal travel was 84% of normal for the week ended May 29, up from 81% of normal for the week ended May 22.  Traffic has now returned to the level where it was one week after most stay at home orders began to take effect.
  • Long haul truck travel and local fleet travel declined due to the impacts of the holiday.
  • State level passenger travel increase in every state for the sixth week in a row.  Six states (Wyoming, South Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Alaska, Utah and South Carolina have exceeded traffic in the Feb 22-28 control week prior to covid-related traffic declines.  You can see your states traffic below.
