Google and Programmatic Out of Home

If you read one article on Google and programmatic out of home make it Google as an Outdoor Ad Player.  Google conducted some experiments distributing out of home ads in 2015 and is headed for another test now in Germany.

The out of home national buying system in which every agency asks you to fill out its own time consuming spreadsheet for every buy is ripe for disruption.  The system is also stacked against independent out of home operators who don’t have a big staff to respond to requests for proposals.  Someone (Google, Adquick, fill in the blank)  is going to simplify and automate and get it right.

This quote says it all: “the trend of tech companies extending into the out of home advertising space will continue across the ad industry…”
