Lehigh Valley Live reports that Wilson Borough, Pennsylvania is considering whether to allow an electronic billboard along Route 22 near Fisk Field to pay for a new scoreboard at the borough owned athletic complex and to possibly pay other expenses.

A billboard constructed in 2013 on city land at Hackett Park overlooking Route 22 is expected to generate $700,000 over 20 years for the city.

Insider’s take:  Expect to see more of this kind of billboard development as municipalities use billboard leases to fund public services without taxes.
