Vehicle Recognition Campaign for Bermuda Tourism

Media Agency Group  and Bermuda Tourism are using car recognition technology to deliver tailored digital billboard ads in London. The car digital billboard is in London at Holland Park roundabout (near Westfield shopping centre).

A camera on the digital billboard recognizes cars valued at more than $50,000 dollars which are less than 4 years old. The billboard then delivers a tailored message promoting tourism, e.g.”hello Bermudaful…in the Range Rover” if a late model Range Rover drives by, “hello Bermudaful…in the BMW” if a late model BMW drives by.

Media Agency Group managing director John Kehoe says this about the project:

“Bermuda required a campaign that delivered minimum wastage and maximum relevance – by tapping into vehicle recognition tech we’ve been able to target an ideal audience and ensure that they are served with personalised, effective advertising messages.”

Insider’s take: Lots to like about car recognition ads.  Personalized.  No beacon or app required.  A driver isn’t distracted by looking at a text or phone ad while driving.  Expect to see more of this.
