Vancouver Proposes Regulation Covering Floating Billboards

Screen Shot 2016-03-11 at 8.29.08 AMInsider has written before about a 65 foot floating digital billboard boat which Burke Billboards has been sailing around False Creek Bay and English Bay.  The billboard board has a 12 by 40 foot digital screen.  Vancouver 24hours  and Business Vancouver report that the city of Vancouver has proposed an amendment to the Vancouver sign code which would put the boat out of business.  The amendment will prohibit floating billboards but allow a single one meter square sign per vessel.

A new Vancouver sign bylaw is coming this fall.

Insider’s take: A 3′ by 3′ square sign is the same as saying no vessel billboards.
