Strip Club Owner replaces board content.

The Hartford Courant reports that a Hartford strip club is redoing an ad on a billboard on I-84 in response to citizen complaints about the ad being too suggestive.  The state DOT and town manager sent the strip club a letter asking that the board be taken down although they both acknowledged that content can be a first amendment issue.

Insider’s take:  Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.  You need to take community values and concerns into account when deciding what businesses should run on your billboards and what the ads should look like.  That goes for suggestive ads, inflammatory ads and violent ads.
