Lamar Mt Washington Sign Dispute Continues

Screen Shot 2016-06-06 at 10.38.07 AMPittsburgh Post Gazette reports that Lamar was found not guilty of maintenance violations relating to the 32 by 225 foot long  Mt Washington billboard which Lamar installed in May of this year.  The City of Pittsburgh is attempting to make Lamar take the sign down by saying that the sign was altered without a permit.  The City of Pittsburgh went to Court to charge the company with maintenance code violations of the sign.  The judge ruled that Lamar’s was not guilty of maintenance violations after reviewing $50,000 in Lamar expenditures to remove rust, apply paint and make other improvements to the sign after the city’s complaint.  There will be a zoning hearing on the sign in mid November and a city ruling could occur a couple months after that.

We’ve written before about the dispute on June 24, 2016 and June 7, 2016.
