Houston Reduces Billboards

Screen Shot 2016-08-28 at 12.50.00 PMClick2Houston reports that the Houston City Council recently passed an ordinance approving a contract agreement with JGI Outdoor to reduce the number of its billboards in the city.

JGI has agreed to remove 13 billboards around the city and in turn the city has extended the terms on four other JGI signs in the city for a period of 20 years.

A copy of the ordinance can be seen at the following location JGI_RCA.

The City of Houston has been on a program to reduce the number of structures in the city.  City officials indicate the total number of billboards removed or scheduled for removal across the city is now 68, which is a 4 percent reduction in the city’s total inventory.
