Autonomous Car Update

Insider couldn’t help smiling at this Forbes article in which equity fund investor Randy Rowe of Green Courte Partners, “an expert in urban real estate” predicts that autonomous cars will wipe out the billboard advertising business.  Insider notes with amusement that Rowe’s company is a lead investor in The Parking Spot, the nations largest portfolio of near airport parking facilities.   Could this be a case of do as a say, not as I do?  In any case, Insider would much rather have a billboard plant than a parking lot when the world shifts to autonomous cars.

The International Association of Public Transport wants public agencies to build their own fleets of autonomous vehicles to cut air and noise pollution.

This Car and Driver article suggests that driverless cars will be adopted in commercial markets first due to the cost:: “DeVos still sees autonomous vehicles costing between $50,000 and $70,000 which is why he forsees autonomy reaching commercial markets long before most motorists can trade in their daily drivers for a highly automated vehicle.”
