Antennas on billboards: Long on promise, short on revenues

Skyway Towers is representing IBOUSA companies to try to generate billboard revenues from leasing space on 2000 independent billboard company sites.  Skyway is in discussions with the major carriers (ATT, Verizon, Sprint).  Mark Pruit of Skyway says the carriers are overwhelmed trying to sort through data and trying to create a network.

Vertical Bridge has exclusive rights to antenna and small cell site deployment across Clear Channel’s footprint as well as thousands of other billboards.  Insider asked Vertical Bridge Vice President of Real Estate Jim McCulloch for an update on antennas on billboards, and he said this:  “We have a number of leases in place and a lot of interest from telecommunications companies.  We continue to feel that billboards will be attractive assets for our customers.”
